The Pratt Nature Center has been lucky to have a variety of volunteers.
We have corporations, businesses, organizations, family and individual volunteers. They come in all shapes and sizes……from small children to adults. They come in large groups or all alone. We have one time ,weekly and even daily volunteers.
Volunteers have planted trees and flowers, built bridges, torn down buildings, cleared and built trails . They have helped with events such as Earth Day and our Annual Auction. Volunteers help stuff envelopes, create summer camp brochures and hang Christmas Lights. They answer phones, greet visitors and feed animals.
The Pratt Nature Center relies on volunteers! We are fortunate to have each and every one of them!!!!
But the volunteers who always seem to get the short end of the goat are the poop scooping volunteers. With goats, sheep, horse and bunch of chickens…..there is always an endless supply of poop to scoop! So here is a big thank you to our poop scoopers!
THANK YOU!
(It doesn’t help any when the goat always tries to eat the shovel)
We don’t actually call it poop…ask any Pratt Kid and they will tell you what we call it……they might even sing you the song.
It starts with an S, and ends with a T. It comes out of you and it comes out of me.
I know what your thinking but don’t call it that. Be scientific and just call it SCAT!
If you live in the New Milford/Litchfield County Area and are interested in volunteering for the Pratt Nature Center please call or email us for a volunteer application. 860.355.3137 prattnaturecenter@gmail.com A variety of opportunities are available!
