What We Are Thankful For

I snuck out of the pen and asked everyone what they are most thankful for this Thanksgiving ……….
The chickens are thankful for summer camp lunches and that they are not turkeys. Bruno and Shelly are thankful for spending their winters in Litchfield County, heat lamps and fresh dandelion greens. Priscilla is thankful for worms, crickets and the occasional blue berry. Buddy Rabbit is thankful for Pat and carrots. Buddy Horse is grateful for special treats and children with apples. The Sheep are grateful that they have brand new wool coats and the smell of fresh hay ( they would be thankful if I stopped head butting them too, maybe that will be my new years resolution). Sweat Pea is thankful for baby carrots. We are all thankful for Mark and Jess and all of the staff, summer camp kids,friends in California, the grown ups who support us and the caring , generous community we live in (Thank You, New Milford!)
I am thankful for hikers with carrots and the smell of hay, for neighbors with treats and a hole in the fence.
