March School Vacation Camp Days

For ages 4-14 

For specific dates, cost and online registration information, please click this link for School Vacation Camp.

It can be a challenge to manage those days off during the week on the school calendar so let us help! Pratt follows the New Milford Public Schools and Washington Montessori calendar but any child from anywhere is welcome. When kids are off during the week, we welcome them for a day of camp. Open to kids age 4-14, they’ll spend the day exploring the property with friends in activities that change with every season. It is the perfect way for kids to spend the day when school is closed!

Homeschool Spring Session – Registration is open!

Elementary School (Age 6-10): Wednesdays beginning March 4th

Middle School (Age 11-13) : Thursdays beginning March 5th

Our Spring Homeschool Session begins in March with flexible scheduling and pricing options. Come learn with us in the most natural of classrooms. The springs brings opportunities to explore the property in a different season, help raise trout, enjoy explore the river, garden and so much more!

After School Explore – Registration is open!

For ages 6-14 (Kindergarten through 8th Grade) 

Meets Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday from 4:00* – 5:30 pm during the school year on school days, following the New Milford School calendar. *Bus arrival times vary but Pratt staff meet each bus when it arrives. Parent drop off is at 4:00, if not arriving by bus.

Our After School Explore program is the perfect way for kids to let go of their school day  – playing outside with friends! Sign up for one, two or all three days of after school adventure. Nature Babies – Registration is open!

Prenatal/Birth – 3 years old with their caregiver

Every Wednesday (Begins Wednesday, September 4th) from 9:30-10:30

$10 per family per session

Pratt’s version of the “Mommy and Me” class puts you and your little one outside and exploring nature from the beginning. Perfect for expecting or new moms, dads, grandparents – any grownup that has a young child in their life. Once a week, for an hour, we’ll take a leisurely stroll where ever our curiosity takes us. After School Maple Sugaring

Grades 6-12: Monday, February 24h 2:30-4:00

Grades K-2: Tuesday, February 25th 3:30-5:00

Grades 3-5: Wednesday, February 26th 4-5:30

Join us for a seasonal favorite! Kids will get hands on experience with the science and process of maple sugaring. We’ll take them through the practice of tapping trees, collecting syrup and also demonstrate boiling the sap down over a fire, finishing with a taste test of commercial and local maple syrup. A tradition everyone should experience!

$15 per child, online pre registration is required.

Happy Hour Book Club – February

For adults

Wednesday, February 26th  6:00-7:00 pm

This isn’t your average book club. Join us on the last Wednesday of the month from 6:00-7:00 pm for a lively discussion  around each month’s book that shines a light on all the different ways we connect to the natural world. From hiking to wellness to farming and physics (with lots more in between), there’s going to be something for everyone. It’s  BYOBeverage and we’ll provide the snacks.

March Community Potluck Dinner

Friday, March 13th  6:30-7:30 pm

 Join us in our greenhouse for a casual potluck dinner as a way to celebrate the community spirit that supports so much of what we do. Bring a favorite finger food or dish to share. Enjoy the company of friends over a good meal and then feel free to stick around for our Moonlight Hike, starting at 7:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

Come stroll the lower fields with us for an evening hike. Weather permitting, we’ll have a campfire and roast marshmallows!

M-Archery Madness 2020

Grades 6-12: Monday, March 23rd 2:30-4:00

Grades K-2: Tuesday, March 24th 3:30-5:00

Grades 3-5: Wednesday, March 25th 4:00-5:30

An amazing afternoon of basic archery instruction! Kids will get to know the parts of a bow, be coached through proper technique and get plenty of opportunity to hit that bullseye with Pratt’s certified archery instructors.

$15 per child, online pre registration is required. Space is limited.

Beekeeping 101 with Mike’s Beehives

For teens & adults

Saturday, March 28th  9:00 am-12:00 pm

We’re happy to host Mike Rice from Mike’s Beehives and his expert presentation on getting started with beekeeping. Learn how to raise honeybees, about the complete hive, the bees, other equipment, care and understanding the life of the honeybee, problems and pests and much more. Mike handcrafts the hive he sells using dovetail joints, waterproof glue and nails. Honey Bees will be available for order/purchase, along with all hives and equipment. 5% discount on all purchases for beekeeping students! Family Flashlight Egg Hunt

Thursday, April 9th  8:00 pm

It’s time to channel your inner nocturnal hunting instincts! Join us for our Flashlight Egg Hunt where kids can prowl our lower fields for hidden, treat-filled eggs. A fun evening outside at night! 

Everybody needs to bring their own flashlight and baskets. 

For ages 7 and up, $5 per child

This is not a drop off program, children need to be accompanied by an adult.

Pratt’s Earth Day Celebration & Dirt Dash 5K

Sunday April, 26th 

Save the date! Our Earth Day Celebration and annual Dirt Dash will be held on Sunday, April 26th.  Look for more details in the next few weeks!
